Buying guide

Choose a first 3D printer

Start with what you want to make.

Start here

Write down the largest useful object, materials and the workspace available. Compare the full process: a resin printer also needs handling and post-processing, while a filament printer needs motion clearance and suitable material storage.

Compare recurring costs

Include consumables, replacement parts and workspace equipment. Use a material-cost tool with your own price and job estimate, then add time and maintenance.
